FAQs

 

How long after I place my order will I receive my commission?

The wait time for commissions to be completed is approximately 4-6 weeks at this time. I open my books only a few times a year and take a limited number of commissions, so this should always be roughly the case, but there will be busier periods throughout the year way it may take longer. I will always communicate that clearly with you from the beginning, and of course I will try to accommodate any deadline you may have in mind (ie if you’re ordering for Mother’s Day or a loved one’s birthday)

Are your rates flexible?

I can sometimes be flexible on the total amount depending on your budget and the details of the piece :) Don’t hesitate to reach out so we can see what is possible. I’m nice!

Also, having lost my soul-dog in 2024, I have a particular soft spot for memorial portraits. If your beloved pet has passed away and you want to honour their memory with a portrait but the price is a barrier, please let me know and we will figure something out!

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I am a big believer in making art accessible and am happy to offer flexible payment plans based on the needs of my clients.

How does the process work?

Once you’ve reviewed the above pricing and decided to book, simply reach out to me via the form below. I will get in touch with you so we can make sure the project is a good fit, and to collect reference photos of your furry loved one! Once I have the reference photos and we’ve gone over all the details, I will start the project. Once the portrait is all done, I will send you a photo for final approval and then send it your way!

Is there an extra charge if I want more than one pet in the painting?

Yes. The above prices are the starting rates for single-pet portraits, but I’m happy to do multiple pets! If you would like multiple pets to be featured, just let me know in the contact form and I will give you a custom quote based on the details of the project.

How far in advance do you book commissions?

This is still a process that I am figuring out! For the moment, I will generally be booking a month or two at a time. However if you really need something for a special occasion later in the year, please reach out to get booked in now to ensure delivery.

For portraits on handbags - do you provide the bag?

No, the handbag itself must be provided by the client. The easiest thing is usually to order the handbag of your choice and have it shipped directly to me!

What materials can be painted on?

For traditional portraits, I paint on either canvas or canvas paper. For handbags/wallets/etc, the bag must be either real leather, or a canvas material.

What currency are prices listed in?

All prices are listed in CAD.

 Policies & Additional Fees

Orders placed with two weeks or less required turnaround time will incur a rush fee of 25%-100% of the project’s total cost, depending on the scope of the project.

Please note that the above prices are listed in Canadian Dollars. Federal & Provincial Taxes are not included here but are applicable to all projects.
