Live Fashion Illustration for Alison Sheri Anniversary Event
In September of 2022, I had the pleasure of doing live fashion illustrations of guests at a fabulous event in celebration of the 20th anniversary of local Montreal fashion Alison Sheri. At the helm of this brand is Emily Wang; an incredibly kind and talented woman who I’ve had the privilege of working with a few times now.
The event took place at the brand new Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Midtown, which is an absolutely stunning venue. Sitting just outside the banquet hall where I had perfect lighting and a calm environment in which to create, I set out to capture the soul of the event - the guests themselves. As they arrived, I took photos of the guests together, mostly as couples, that I would then draw throughout the evening as they enjoyed the festivities. Periodically, guests approached me with curiosity and excitement, eager to see themselves come to life on paper. As the night unfolded, the table beside me that held the finished artworks transformed into a gallery of memories, a visual diary of an evening that celebrated two decades of timeless fashion.
It was an incredibly busy night, so the few photos that I took are not the best, but I have a few images below. Since there were so many guests to illustrate, I did as many as I could while on-site, and then finished the rest in my studio. This is common practice for high volume events, and I offer this post-event service as a contingency package to make sure that all guests receive their own portrait and no one is left out!
As another element to the evening, Emily gifted her attendees with their own customized makeup case, inside which I had engraved their names on the interior mirrors. This custom engraving service was completed prior to the event, so every guest walked away with a beautiful, personalized gift as well as their custom portrait.
I’m so grateful to the Alison Sheri team for their ongoing support and collaboration! I had a wonderful time at this event and can’t wait for the next milestone celebration with them.
